2017亞洲職棒冠軍爭霸賽16日至19日將在東京烽火開戰，為了備戰亞冠賽，中華代表隊將於10日至12日進行亞冠熱身賽，於桃園國際棒球場迎戰日本職棒千葉羅德海洋隊一軍。9日雙方練球，並舉辦亞冠熱身賽賽前記者會。
羅德隊曾在2005年、2010年兩度拿下日本一，也是第一屆亞洲職棒大賽的日本代表隊，官方應援團素有「地表最強的應援團」之稱，是日本職棒相當有特色的一支球隊。多次與Lamigo桃猿隊進行交流賽的羅德隊，這次由新上任的監督井口資仁率隊進行台灣遠征，且對手變成戰力更雄厚的中華代表隊，井口資仁表示：「剛從選手換成監督確實需要一些心境調整，但無礙於自己對於明年總冠軍的追求。
中華代表隊總教練洪一中則先禮後兵，他表示，歡迎羅德隊再度來台，中華代表隊對於亞冠賽奪冠很有信心，也做了很多準備，而羅德隊的投手確實都很有威力，不過中華代表隊這群年輕的砲手也不好惹，這次一定全力以赴，並藉由這三場比賽掌握每位選手的最佳狀況。
中華代表隊隊長陽岱鋼也號召球迷朋友進場力挺中華隊，他認為羅德隊是支很有活力的球隊，要從台灣一路贏到日本東京。甫拿下日職金手套的羅德隊隊長鈴木大地則表示，自己對於桃園球迷的熱情留下深刻印象，這次千葉羅德一定不會讓中華隊輕易過關。
亞冠熱身賽首戰將於明日下午18:35登場，羅德隊將派出今年先發23場擁有5場完投勝的22歲少年強投二木康太先發，中華代表隊則是由左投陳冠宇掛帥主投，井口資仁監督表示，雖然陳冠宇是羅德隊的選手，但這場比賽一定要擊倒他。中華代表隊由隊長陽岱鋼擔任開路先鋒，三、四兩棒由王柏融與蘇智傑串聯；羅德隊的三、四兩棒則分別是角中勝也與井上晴哉。
